The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has conducted the online application process and lakhs of application forms have been received from eligible candidates. Those who applied must note that the next stage after the successful completion of registration and application process, is the Prelims and Mains Exam.
For Group 1 services which includes posts like Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category-1), Assistant Commissioner(Commercial Taxes), etc. the Prelims exam will be held on 13th July 2024 (single shift) from 09.30 A.M. to 12.30 P.M. The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has published the TNPSC Group 1 Notification 2024 for Combined Civil Services Examination-I (Group I Services) and a total of 90 vacancies will be filled through the recruitment process.

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has released the TNPSC Group 1 Exam Date 2024 for Prelims Exam. The TNPSC Group 1 Online Application process was conducted on the official website at www.tnpsc.gov.in. Candidates are required to fill out all the details correctly and upload documents in appropriate size and dimensions
Candidates have the option to pay the application fee online using Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card before the deadline for submitting the online application. Additionally, candidates are responsible for paying any applicable service charges
Note: Payments made through offline modes such as Demand Draft or Postal Order will not be accepted. Applications submitted with such forms of payment will be rejected without further consideration, and the fees will not be returned or refunded

While registration, candidates are required to pay Rs. 150 as fee which is valid for 5 years and and examination fee of Rs. 100/- (while filling out the application form). Payment of the fee must be made through online channels such as Net Banking, Credit card, or Debit card before the specified deadline for submitting the online application.

For the Group 1 services, applicants are required to hold a degree in any stream from a university recognized by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or from an educational institution established by an Act of Parliament. Additionally, degrees deemed as equivalent to university degrees under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, are also acceptable. The TNPSC Group 1 Recruitment 2024 selection process involves 3 stages and the exam-wise details are discussed below
The exam pattern for both Prelims and Mains exam is discussed below. The exam shall be conducted in both English and Tamil Language
1. The Prelims Exam is qualifying in nature (Its marks will not be added to the final merit list)
2.The questions shall be objective type and there is no negative marking.
3. Qualifying Marks: SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs: 90 Marks and Others: 120 Marks.

The Mains exam is descriptive type and it consists of 4 papers. Those who pass the Prelims exam, will appear for the Mains Exam. The Main Examination answer sheets of Paper II, Paper III, and Paper IV will be evaluated, only if the candidate secures minimum qualifying marks in Paper I
